Drink in the atmosphere of rural Dorset
Since the 17th century, The White Hart pub has provided a focus for the community of Bishops Caundle – a small thriving village in north Dorset, close to the historic market towns of Sherborne and Sturminster Newton.
Our traditional village pub offers a warm welcome to locals and visitors to the region. We’re family-friendly, with ample outdoor space for children to play.
In summer you can sit in our extensive garden, breathe in the fresh Dorset air, and enjoy the distant views to Bulbarrow hill. In winter you can snuggle up by our cosy hearth.
Freshly-prepared pub food
Enjoy our lovingly-prepared pub meals, cooked to order – from light snacks to wholesome meals, including homemade specials, Fish Fridays and Sunday roasts.
If you’re in the mood for a pie, you need to try our homemade steak & kidney pie with shortcrust pastry!
Vegetarian options are available too.
We have a tempting range of homemade delicious desserts.

Real ales, cider, specially-selected wines – and more!
We’re a traditional pub, not a gastro-pub – pop by for your favourite tipple!
