Drink in the atmosphere of rural Dorset
Since the 17th century, The White Hart pub has provided a focus for the community of Bishops Caundle – a small thriving village in north Dorset.
Our traditional village pub offers a warm welcome to locals and visitors to the region.
We are open!
We are pleased to announce our new managers Adrian & Sarah joined us on our re-opening on Thursday 15th April.
They are looking forward to meeting all our lovely customers and setting their sights for a great future at The White Hart.
As you know (due to Covid-19 regulations) it will be outside table service only in groups of 6 or 2 households – in our large garden.
Opening hours will be limited till the 17th May due to the lack of warmth, but we will revise hours regularly.
Not long now till we can get back to normal!!
Roger and Rachel.

West Country Ales and Local Cider
Our range of drinks includes specially selected West Country ales.
For cider lovers, we offer Laycock Cider, hand crafted a few miles away in Purse Caundle.
A real old-time cider – the apples are hand picked and pressed in an old cider press.
Freshly-cooked Pub Food
Enjoy our traditional pub food, cooked to order – and freshly prepared with locally sourced produce whenever possible – including homemade specials and Sunday roasts.
Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.
We are easy to find, being on the main A3030 through Bishops Caundle village, on the right hand side just past the church if travelling from the Sherborne direction.
There is plenty of parking space in our car park to the side of the pub.
You can also find us on Tripadvisor.
With over 17 years in the pub trade, we are a local Dorset family and pride ourselves on creating a traditional village pub atmosphere – and we look forward to welcoming you!
Roger and Rachel Paull.
