Drink in the atmosphere of rural Dorset
Since the 17th century, The White Hart pub has provided a focus for the community of Bishops Caundle – a small thriving village in north Dorset.
Our traditional village pub offers a warm welcome to locals and visitors to the region.
Roger & Rachel would like to welcome you back to The White Hart on Saturday the 4th of July.
Please stay safe while you are with us.
If you need anything please do not hesitate to ask.
- Due to government guidelines we are required to provide table service only inside, so we advise that you to book ahead to save any disappointment.
- Children are welcome but we ask that parents please supervise to maintain a safe distance.
- We are required by law to take your contact details for the track & trace procedure. Rest assured we will be following the data protection legislation.
If you wish to sit outside, we have a lovely large beer garden with plenty of seating and a marquee – and expansive views over farm fields towards Bulbarrow Hill, an ancient hill fort in the Dorset Downs.
We will do our best to keep you safe and happy, whatever the weather.
We really are looking forward to seeing you all.
We are limiting our opening hours, which will be reviewed on a regular basis.
See below for our new opening times.
West Country Ales and Local Cider
Our range of drinks includes specially selected West Country ales.
For cider lovers, we offer Laycock Cider, hand crafted a few miles away in Purse Caundle.
A real old-time cider – the apples are hand picked and pressed in an old cider press.
Freshly-cooked Pub Food
Enjoy our traditional pub food, cooked to order – and freshly prepared with locally sourced produce whenever possible.
Please book in advance.
We are easy to find, being on the main A3030 through Bishops Caundle village, on the right hand side just past the church if travelling from the Sherborne direction.
There is plenty of parking space in our car park to the side of the pub.
You can also find us on Tripadvisor.
With over 17 years in the pub trade, we are a local Dorset family and pride ourselves on creating a traditional village pub atmosphere – and we look forward to welcoming you!
Roger and Rachel Paull.
